Messaging Policy
Effective date: August 6, 2026
This Messaging Policy describes how IrisTrackR, jointly operated by Cogent Steps, LLC and STRADL LLC, uses text messaging (SMS) in connection with endurance event medical and operations workflows. It supplements our Terms of Service and should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. Types of messages
IrisTrackR sends transactional SMS messages only. We do not send marketing, advertising, or promotional text messages.
The messages we send include:
- Emergency contact notifications — alerts to a participant’s designated emergency contact when race operations need to reach them regarding the participant, with a request to call into the race operations center.
We do not use SMS for unrelated purposes such as sales outreach or general event marketing.
2. Who receives messages
Messages are sent only to the mobile phone number provided as a designated emergency contact during race registration for a participant. We do not message the general public, purchased contact lists, or numbers unrelated to an active registration and consent flow.
3. How consent is obtained
Consent is collected at race registration. When a participant (or someone registering on their behalf) enters emergency contact information and agrees to receive notifications, that agreement is opt-in consent for IrisTrackR to send the SMS messages described in this policy to that designated contact for the relevant event and related operational needs.
The participant or registrant is responsible for providing accurate emergency contact information and for ensuring they are authorized to supply the contact’s phone number and consent for these notifications.
4. Message frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on event needs. A designated emergency contact may receive a message when race operations need to reach them regarding a participant—for example, during a medical encounter or related operational situation. There is no fixed monthly message count.
5. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier’s network and policies.
6. Opt out (STOP)
You may opt out of IrisTrackR SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from our program. After you opt out, you will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS from this program unless you opt in again through a permitted method.
Other common opt-out keywords (such as CANCEL, END, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT) are also honored where applicable.
Opting out of SMS does not delete race records or cancel a participant’s race registration. Race organizers may still need to contact emergency contacts through other channels when medically or operationally necessary.
7. Help (HELP)
For help with IrisTrackR text messages, reply HELP to a message from our program, or email info@iristrackr.com.
8. Privacy
How we collect, use, retain, and protect information—including mobile phone numbers and messaging consent—is described in our Privacy Policy.
Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for this program are used to deliver the messages described above and to manage opt-outs and program records.
